James J. Rynier, 74, of New Holland, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 23 at Tel Hai Retirement Community. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, M. Doris (Martin) Rynier.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Ida (Zimmerman) Rynier of Lancaster and the late W. Jay Rynier.
Jim retired from Armstrong World Industries, last serving as a supervisor.
He was an active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Paradise, where he served as a Sunday School teacher. He had also formerly been a member of the Pequea Valley Jaycee’s and the Intercourse Lions Club and had served with the Gordonville Ambulance.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by five children: Jamie S. married to Scott Gebhardt, Harrisburg; Steven T. Rynier, Gordonville; Peter J. married to Jennifer (Sauers)Rynier, Columbia; Sherry L. married to Dean Plank, Gap; and Suzette L. Rynier, Augusta, GA; six grandchildren; a sister, Rebecca married to James Johnson, NC; and loving nieces and nephews.
His memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 3001 Lincoln Hwy. East, Paradise with Pastor Gene Erickson officiating. Kindly omit flowers.
