James W. Yoder

James E. Yoder, 82, a resident of Mohnton, formerly of Intercourse, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

He was the husband of the late Ruth E. Good Yoder who died in 2020. Born in Meyersdale, Somerset County, PA he was the son of the late Irvin and Salome Bontrager Yoder.

Jim retired from Tyson Foods where he had been employed for over 40 years. He had also been the custodian at Ridgeview Mennonite church for 33 years. He was a member of Petra Church and enjoyed serving people.

Surviving is a son, Gordon husband of Brenda Carrasco Yoder of Mohnton; two grandchildren, Harrison and Violet Yoder; two sisters, Marietta wife of William Farlow of Seville, OH, and Marlene wife of Jacob Tice of Kenton, DE; two brothers, Jason Yoder of Cleveland Heights, OH and Joseph Yoder of Grantsville, MD.

A Service Celebrating Jim’s Life will be held on Monday, July 1, at 10:30 A.M. at Petra Church, 565 Airport Road, New Holland, PA. Friends may greet the family at the church on Monday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Petra Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim’s memory may be made to Mennonite Disaster Service, 583 Airport Road, Lititz, PA 17543.
