Jane W. Harsh

Jane W. Harsh, 88, of 1001 E. Oregon Rd., Lititz, formerly of New Holland, died peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Landis Homes. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. “Bill” Harsh, Jr. in 1975.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Z. and Edith (Hertzog) Widder, Jr.

Jane had been a secretary in the Guidance Department at Conestoga Valley High School, retiring in 1988.

She enjoyed knitting and sewing and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lovingly sewed thousands of basket garters for her daughter’s business.

Surviving is a daughter Diane married to Terry Kreider, Akron; two grandchildren: Bradley S. Kreider and Jill A. Sweigart, both of Ephrata; five great-grandchildren; and a brother Franklin Z. Widder III, Akron.

A service will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with Pastor David Allen officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Ranck’s United Methodist Cemetery.
