Janet M. Colodonato

Janet M. Colodonato (“Jan, “Reds”, “Grandma Mermaid”) of Narvon, PA, formerly of Audubon, NJ joined her husband of 29 years on April 6 of 2013.

Preceded by her beloved husband Pantaleon Colodonato Jr and parents Charles A. Slye Sr and Mildred A. Slye (Reynolds). She is survived by her son Enzio “Luke” Colodonato (Amanda Prestash) Terre Hill, PA; brother Charles “Butch” Slye (Beverly) Ephrata, PA; sister Lorraine A. Slye (Robert Sikorski) Audubon, NJ; nephew CJ “Chuck” Sikorski (AJ Garcia) Orlando, FL; Granddaughter Athena Prestash, Terre Hill, PA and many nieces and nephews.

Jan was an active member of Bangor Episcopal Church, Churchtown, PA. She loved singing with the AARP Chorus and was a past member of Sweet Adelines. Jan had been a guide at the Ephrata Cloister and a past President of the Ephrata Cloister Board of Directors. She was Queen Mother of her Red Hat Chapter, the Red Belles of Blue Ball. Jan was a member of Historic Poole Forge in Churchtown. She was part of the Blue Ball Lanes family for years.

Jan was an accomplished dressmaker and loved to cook. “You’re welcome to stay for supper. I’ll throw something together!” Jan will be missed for her spirit, her humor, her infectious laugh and the love she gave to so many.

A Celebration of life mass will be held at Bangor Episcopal Church 2099 Main Street (Rt 23) Churchtown, PA at 11am on April 20th. The Church Parish Hall will open at 10 am for family and friends. Interment of ashes will be held at the memorial garden on the church grounds. Family and friends will gather at Mt Culmen EC Church Social Hall, 1885 Turkey Hill Road, East Earl, PA following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jan's memory to Bangor Episcopal Church, Churchtown PA. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill is in charge of arrangements.
