Janet A. Harnish

Janet A. Harnish, 77, of 845 Ranck Road, New Holland, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, July 30, 2012, at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mt. Joy. She is survived by her husband Raymond E. Harnish to whom she had been married 55 years on April 27.

Born in Millway, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Coreta (Smith) Hollinger.

She was a seamstress in local garment factories and had worked at Brubaker’s Sewing Center, New Holland, for many years.

Janet was a Sunday school teacher for many years and was currently a member of Christian Fellowship Church.

In addition to cooking and baking, she enjoyed sewing clothing and other craft items for her children, grandchildren, and great grandson, all of whom she loved very much.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her daughter, Debra married to Dennis Weaver, East Earl, her sons, Terry, married to Carmen Harnish, and Raymond, Jr., married to Kimberly Harnish, both of New Holland, four grandchildren, Jocelyn, Alison, Brendon and Dylan, and a great grandson Micah. Also surviving are three sisters, Ethel Fake, Ephrata, Marlene Dyer, New Holland, and Barbara Bonebrake, Oneonta, NY.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, Aug. 2, at 10 a.m. at Christian Fellowship Church, 758 Spruce Road, New Holland, with the Reverend David Horst officiating. Interment will be in Ranck’s United Methodist Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, PA, and on Thursday from 9 – 10 a.m. at the Church. Memorial donations in honor of Janet may be sent to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
