Janet P. Skowood

Janet P. Skowood, 78, of 569 Red Hill Road, Narvon, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Born in Downingtown she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Jennie (Tait) Schrider. Her husband, John Skowood, died Dec. 13, 1966. Janet was a homemaker most of her life but in her younger years she worked as a farm hand for her parents. She attended Mt. Culmen E.C. Church, Bridgeville E.C. Church, and Gospel Tabernacle. Surviving are four children, Cathie, married to Jacob Coblentz of Gap, Donald Skowood, married to Norma Kurtz of Bowmansville, Linda, married to Daryl Leaman of Narvon, and Kenneth, married to Dawn (Bills) Skowood of Narvon; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death is a son, Dewey G. Skowood, in 2007. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 13 at 7 pm at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with the Reverend Philip Walck officiating. Interment will be held on Thursday, March 15 at 2 pm at the Northwood Cemetery in Downingtown.
