Janet M. Upton

Janet M. (Reign) Upton, 89, of New Holland, passed away on 8/10/22 as a resident of Garden Spot Village.

Born in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret (Hickman) Reign.

She was the loving wife of the late Asa Carroll Upton, with whom she married on May 3, 1952 and shared eighteen years of marriage until the time of his passing in 1970.

Janet was the former owner of Oak Creek Campground in Mohnton from 1969-1992. She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, playing cards, traveling in her younger years and watching the Philadelphia Phillies and Reading Phillies.

She is survived by her children: Gary S. Upton of West Reading, Diane M. wife of Stephen A. Cooper of Newtown Square, Kenneth C. husband of Linda S. (Colberg) Upton of Reinholds and Jeff M. husband of Kathy Y. (Stone) Upton of New Holland. Also surviving are five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she is predeceased by a brother: William Reign.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Janet’s memory to the Garden Spot Benevolent Fund, 433 S Kinzer Avenue, New Holland PA 17557.
