Jean Marie Lapp, 87, of Lancaster, ended her journey peacefully and entered into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
She was the wife of Alvin A. “Bud” Lapp. Born in Willow Street, she was the daughter of the late Mahlon H. and Gladys Mellinger High.
She worked and was a manager at Huber’s Nursery and then started her own business which she operated for 30 years, The Tulip Patch. She was a member of the Sunnyside Mennonite Church. Jean and Bud enjoyed many trips together and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Randy husband of Diane Lapp of Gordonville; a daughter, Dawn wife of Joe Forte of Lancaster; five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and a sister Dorothy Breneman. She was preceded in death by a great grandson, Arlo Forta, a sister, Norma Forry and a brother Jim High.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 25, at 3:00 P.M. at the Willow Street Mennonite Church, 399 E. Penn Grant Road, Willow Street, PA with Pastor Dean Sauder officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Sunnyside Mennonite Church, 337 Circle Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17602.
