Jean L. Morrow, 90, of 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Garden Spot Village.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bessie (Hooper) Light. Her husband, John L. Morrow, died in 2000.
Jean was a 1939 graduate of the West Philadelphia High School and was active in Christian service most of her life. She served as a choir member, playing piano, and teaching primary department Sunday school in the Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Philadelphia and the Manoa United Presbyterian Church in Havertown. Also she served in the offices of the Women's Missionary Fellowship and the Women’s Circle, and helped with VBS, children’s Bible clubs, and the nursery at Manoa U. P. Church. Later she attended Aldan Union Church in Lansdowne.
Her favorite years of employment were working as a bookkeeper at American Missionary Fellowship (now called Infaith) in Villanova.
Surviving is a son, John L., Jr., married to D-J (Fricker) Morrow of West Chester; two daughters, Margie, married to Gary Reed of Vienna, VA, and Carol Morrow of Horsham, PA; six grandchildren; and a great granddaughter.
Preceding her in death are two sisters, Marjorie Light and Bessie Hitchcock.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 5 at 2:00 pm at the Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA 17557 with the Reverend Fred Raupp and David Horst officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be on Friday, April 6 at 10 am at the Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia.
