Jean Lurray Stewart

Jean Lurray Stewart, 76, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Glenolden, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Brinton Manor.

Born in Shamokin, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mala (Welker) Salter. She was a 1955 graduate of the Glen-Nor High School and later worked as a retail store manager for the Family Dollar in Broomall for several years.

Jean was a member of the Olivet Presbyterian Church in Prospect Park. She enjoyed reading to the children at the Glenolden Library, solving crossword puzzles, along with cheering for the Eagles and Phillies.

Surviving is a daughter, Kimberly, married to Brian Williamson of Honey Brook; two sons, Robert, married to Ruth (Cizmadia) Stewart of Queen Creek, AZ; and Laurence Stewart of Ridley Park; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ronnie Salter of Shenandoah; and two brothers, Kenneth Salter of St. Louis, MO, and Keith, married to Susan (Hickman) Salter of Chadds Ford.

Preceding her in death is a brother, James Salter; and Jean’s twin sister, Joan Kusick.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 25 at 10 am at Petra Christian Fellowship, 565 Airport Road, New Holland with the Reverend Ken Reinford and the Reverend Jeremy Leaman officiating. Interment will be in the Petra Memorial Park. Viewing will be held at the Church on Sunday from 6:30 – 8:30 pm and on Monday from 9 – 10 am.
