Jean M. Ulmer

Jean M. Ulmer, 91, of New Holland, PA, formerly of West Trenton, NJ and Fort Myers, FL, died Thursday, August 15, 2013 after a brief illness at Garden Spot Village in New Holland.

Born in Hopewell, NJ she was the daughter of the late Lester and Alice Mae (Gaskill) Murphy. Her husband, Herbert J. Ulmer, died in 1972. She was married April 18, 1942 at Cadwalader Heights Methodist Church in Trenton, NJ. where she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior at the age of 8.

She moved to Edison, NJ and worked at Clarke Employment Agency and Engelhard Corp. (B.A.S.F.). She graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1939 and attended Rider College.

As a member of The Villas Wesleyan Church in Fort Myers, FL and a charter member of the Community Church at Garden Spot Village, Jean was active in their choirs. She also loved studying the Bible, reading, word puzzles, and she was a contributor to Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.

Surviving are two sons, H. Lawrence, married to Ilona (Ziemba) Ulmer of Huntingdon Valley, PA, and Lee D., married to Robyn (Crozier) Ulmer of Denver, PA; three grandchildren, Lisa Jean, Christopher, married to Cecilia, and Nikolas; a great grandson, Malachy; a sister, Odette Holzbaur of Novato, CA; and a brother, L. Glenn Murphy of Neptune, NJ.

Preceding her in death is a sister, Wilma McTighe.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 19 at 10 am at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, with the Chaplain Marion Harnish officiating. Interment will be in the Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ. Viewing will be held at Garden Spot Village Chapel on Monday from 9-10 am.
