Jeanette worked at the former Lancaster Garment and retired in 1989 from Hopeland Manufacturing in Hopeland.
She was a member of the Ebenezer Evangelical Congregational Church in Brownstown and volunteered for many years, after retirement, with Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed going out to breakfast with George, spending time with her grandchildren, going to public sales, baking, cooking, and crocheting afghans. Her most prized afghan won first prize at the Ephrata fair.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Della, married to Eric Markley of Leola; two grandchildren, Brandon, married to Becky Markley, and Erica, married to Kyle Portner; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Irene Wenzel of Ephrata.
Preceding her in death is a son, Edward Doutrich; a sister, Clara Marie Myer; and a brother, Leroy Myer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 14 at 2 pm at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with the Reverend Bruce Willier officiating. Interment will be in the Zeltenreich Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday at the Funeral Home from 1-2 pm. If desired memorials may be sent to the American Alzheimer’s Association, 3544 N. The family wishes to thank the staff at Compassionate Care Hospice along with Jeanette’s caregivers and her granddaughters, Becky and Erica, for their loving care, and most of all her number one caregiver, her husband.
