Jeffrey C. Eichelman, 69, of East Petersburg, passed away at home on May 21, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Beaufort, SC, he was the son of Anne (Whitehead) Eichelman Brendle and the late Elwood “Woody” G. Brendle.
He was the loving husband of Marilyn K. (Lausch) Eichelman. Their marriage was a beautiful journey marked by deep love, mutual respect and countless moments of joy. From the time they met in 2016, they knew they were meant to be together. They shared a deep love for travel, often escaping to their “happy place” — anywhere blessed with sand, sun, and water.
A self-employed painter throughout his career, he leaves behind a legacy of creativity and craftsmanship. Beyond his work, Jeff, affectionately known as “Easy Eich” or “Skippy” to those close to him, found true joy in the simple pleasures of life. A game of cards, a strategic match of backgammon or pitching quoits with the boys always ignited his competitive spirit. A true sports enthusiast, he played various sports, coached and enjoyed watching anything sports related. Spending time with lifelong friends and reminiscing about escapades of their youth brought smiles and laughter to his life. Jeff's love for his family was boundless. Every hug, every shared meal, every precious moment together was a true treasure.
In addition to his wife Marilyn and mother Anne, he is survived by his children, Alicia Eichelman, Jordan Eichelman, and Natalie Eichelman, stepchildren, Adam Shafer (Kaylyn), Jenna Nagy (Steven) and grandchildren, Sutton and Everett Shafer.
He is also survived by his siblings, Andrea Eichelman, Cynthia Eichelman, Brenda Eichelman, step siblings Barbara Metz, Jere Brendle, and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father Woody and his brother Jerry Eichelman.
A Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jeff’s memory to Hospice and Community Care, 4075 Old Harrisburg Pike, Mount Joy PA 17552.
Groff High Funeral Home in New Holland is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
