Jeffrey R. Martin

Jeffrey R. Martin, 68, of New Holland, PA, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. His family is devastated by his sudden departure but takes comfort in knowing he is with his Lord.

Born in Lancaster, PA, Jeff lived his entire life on his family farm in New Holland. He was the son of Janet G. (Hershey) Martin and the late Robert E. Martin.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Anne Yoder Martin. Their 39th wedding anniversary was on March 14.

Jeff spent his childhood and youth working alongside his parents and siblings on their family farm. He was a graduate of Garden Spot High School where he was a member of the FFA and 4-H. He competitively showed steers at the New Holland Fair and at the Keystone Exposition. In 1994, Jeff and his wife Anne took over the family farm, where they raised their family and continued to live ever since.

Jeff began auctioneering at a young age and later joined his father’s business, Robert E. Martin and Sons Auctioneering. For many years he worked alongside his father, brother, and cousin Randy Ranck, conducting auctions throughout Lancaster County. Jeff loved to volunteer his auctioneering services to benefit local organizations he cared deeply about, including Friendship Community, Landis Homes, Open Door Youth Center, and several fire companies. Jeff had a natural ability to energize a crowd and make every auction lively and fun. For the past several years he auctioneered at Farmersville Auction. He also spent many years providing transportation to Amish neighbors and community members.

Jeff was a lifelong member of Groffdale Mennonite Church where he taught Sunday School, was a Youth Group Leader, and served as a Trustee.

Jeff was larger than life. He was always ready to crack a joke. He loved people - he could find conversation and connection with everyone he spoke to. He loved going to the beach with his family, especially off-season weekend trips with his wife. It was never a surprise to see him jump in the pool after a hot summer’s day. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, and caring for the land he loved.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Cassidy A., wife of Jared Sheinberg, Christopher J. Martin, and Chadman R. Martin; and his brother and sisters, Michael L., husband of Marilyn Martin, Kathy L., wife of John Frey, and Janae M. Smiley.

Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation and memorial service at Groffdale Mennonite Church, 168 N. Groffdale Road, Leola. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 20 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The memorial service will be on Saturday, March 21 at 11:30 AM, with a visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.
