Jerle “Jere” Martin, 75, of Denver passed away at her home on Tuesday evening, June 10, with her husband Kenneth “Ken” Martin at her side. They were happily married for 49 years and raised their daughter Jesse, now of Washington, DC.
Jere was born in Waynesboro, PA on August 16, 1949. She grew up on a farm in Zullinger, PA and graduated from Waynesboro High School and Shippensburg University. Jere worked for many years as an account executive with Moore Business Forms and Formex in the professional stationary industry, receiving many achievement awards during her career. In her earlier years, Jere devoted significant time to her community and local charitable organizations supporting women and animals.
Jere enjoyed collecting antiques, folk art, and coins, planting and gardening, as well as feeding and watching birds. In her later years, she also loved spending time with her daughter, son-in-law, Michael, and grandchildren, Elise and Greta, whom she adored, in addition to her many dear friends in the Lancaster area. Along with her husband, daughter and grandchildren, Jere is survived by her step-daughter Jonna (Tadd) Morris, step-grandchildren Jeffrey and Mikaela, sisters-in-law Rosanne (Ronnie) Shrom and Phyllis (Tom) Sebastion.
A celebration of life will be held in July.
