Joan Horst

Joan H. Horst, 75, of 28 Circle View Dr., Leola, died Friday, April 3, 2015 at Maple Farm Nursing Center. Her husband, Richard Horst, survives. They would have celebrated their 28th anniversary on May 16.

Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Pauline (Kenagy) Hess.

Joan worked in various factories throughout her life spending the majority of time at Badorf Shoe Co. She loved working in her flower beds and attending flea markets and yard sales.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children: Bruce Willard, Ephrata and Lisa Schlack, Denver; a grandson, Jared Royer; three great-grandsons: Tristan, Liam, and Colin; and three siblings: Horace Hess, Lancaster, Robert Hess, Paradise, and Virginia Crills, Ephrata.

Services will be private with burial in Evangelical United Methodist Cemetery, New Holland. Kindly omit flowers. If desired, memorials may be sent to Hospice & Community Care, P. O.
