Joanne A. Supplee, 78, of New Holland, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Hershey Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Robert Supplee in 1998.
Born in Paradise, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Mildred (Shenk) Axe.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church where she had been actively involved. Her involvement with her church included Sunday School, Nursery Department, Vacation Bible School, Visitation Ministry Team, and Bible study and prayer groups.
Surviving are four children: Rev. Thomas B. married to Myra Supplee, Durham, NC; Jana L. married to James F. Rayfield, New Holland; Susan M. married to Kurt B. Herzer, Lititz; Ellen R. Haupt, Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Joel married to Carolina Supplee, Jennifer Supplee, and Jeremy Supplee, all of North Carolina, Will married to Heather Rayfield, NJ, Dustin married to Elizabeth Buckwalter, Leola, Karyn Herzer, Lancaster, and Kyle Herzer, Lititz; two step-grandchildren, Elle and Jack, NC, six great grandchildren, Joanna and Andrew Supplee, Jackson and Brianne Buckwalter, and Benjamin and Alice Rayfield; a step-great grandson Dylan; and two sisters: Betty married to Paul Beane, Gordonville and Patricia Von Gehr, New Holland.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and Donald Axe.
Her memorial service will be held on Friday, December 6 at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical United Methodist Church, 276 W. Main St., New Holland with Pastor Rob Stippich officiating. Private interment will be in
Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1 – 2 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.
