Joel Melvin Hoover

Joel Melvin Hoover, 34, of Narvon, passed away on December 19, 2023 at the University of Pennsylvania after a battle with cancer.

Born in Ronks, he was the son of Melvin H. and Martha Z. (Reiff) Hoover.

He was the husband of Sheryl B. (Reiff) Hoover, with whom he married on November 28, 2009 and shared 14 years of marriage.

He was a member of Pequea Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference). Joel served many years as IT and office manager at HooverTec in New Holland.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his children; Jansen Blake Hoover, Kylah Breann Hoover and Gracie Annabelle Hoover, all at home and his siblings; Kathy (Tim) Maynard of Indonesia, Carolyn (Daryl) Fox of Dayton, VA, Delmar (Anita) Hoover of New Holland, Jason (Delores) Hoover of Ephrata, Janice (Kelvin) Martin of Nora Springs, IA, Rosene (Jeremy) Martin of Mohnton and Christopher (Lois) Hoover of Quarryville. Also surviving are his brother and sister in laws; Joyce (Michael) Martin of Myerstown, Jason (Cheryl) Reiff of Reinholds, Karen (David) Wanger of Ephrata, Wesley (Joy) Reiff of Newmanstown and Curvin (Denise) Reiff of Womelsdorf.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 10:00 AM At Pequea Mennonite Church, 4107 Red Well Drive, Gordonville, PA 17529 with Bishop Curvin Z. Zimmerman officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Martindale Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Road, Ephrata PA 17522.
