Johanna Boegli

Johanna Boegli, 96 of New Holland, died Saturday, May 4, 2013 at her home.

Born in Oschwand, Switzerland she was the daughter of the late Johann and Frieda Flueckiger Ischi. She was one of five children. Her husband, Paul Boegli, died Oct. 31, 2006.

She studied at a business school in Neuchatel and completed her career training in the Swiss Postal service. Besides German she was fluent in French and Italian. In 1959 the family immigrated to Laurel, MD then moved to New Holland in 1964.

Johanna was a homemaker and a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ.

Surviving are three children, Kurt B. Boegli of Harrisburg, wife Rose and daughter Tori, Ulrich P. Boegli and wife Berit of Havre de Grace, MD, son Johan and daughter Anna both in California, and Marianne J. Boegli of Falls Church, VA. Also surviving is her brother, Walter Ischi of Oschwand, Switzerland.

She was predeceased by sisters Elisabeth Staub, Herzogenbuchsee and Margrit Hofer, Ostermundigen and a brother Hans Ischi, Langenthal.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 1:00 PM at St. Stephen United Church of Christ, 249 E. Main St. New Holland with the Reverend Goode officiating.
