John Abel Stoltzfus

John Abel Stoltzfus

John Abel Stoltzfus, 74, of 269 Chicory Court, New Holland, passed peacefully at Mount Joy Hospice Center on November 29, 2013. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria (Williams) Stoltzfus, with whom he had many adventures.


Born in Upper Leacock Twp., he was the son of the late Daniel S. and Sarah B. (Stoltzfus) Stoltzfus and the grandson of Bishop John Abel Stoltzfus.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by one step son: Brian Knight married to Elizabeth; three sisters: Marian Yoder, Gap; Ann Stoltzfus, Ephrata; Rhoda married to George Beiler, Gordonville; and two sisters-in-law, Martha (Lapp) Stoltzfus, Altro, KY and Verna (Zook) Stoltzfus, East Earl. He was loved by many nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by three brothers, Mark, Wesley, and Naaman, and a sister-in-law Minnie (Yoder) Stoltzfus.


John graduated from California State University with a Master’s of Science and PhD in Civil Engineering. Over the course of his career as a civil engineer, John worked and lived in many parts of the world.


A service remembering John’s life will be held in the chapel at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 3 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.
