John R. Beiler, III, 60, of Lancaster died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 21 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Helen F. (Bear) and John R. Beiler, Jr.
John graduated in 1969 from Manheim Twp. High School. He was a truck driver for several different companies during his career, retiring from Yellow-Roadway Trucking and after retirement worked for Manheim Auto Auction.
A member of the Teamsters Local Union No. 771, he enjoyed NASCAR, yard work, boating on the Chesapeake Bay, classic rock music, cars, motorcycling and western movies.
Surviving is a daughter, Vanessa Beiler, Lancaster; two granddaughters: Brittany Lynn and Ariana Rose; a sister Deborah married to Christopher Boniface, Lancaster and two nieces: Jessie Beiler, Lancaster and Jamie Beiler, Harrisburg.
He was preceded in death by a brother David E. Beiler.
He will be lovingly missed by his family and those who knew him, especially his dear friends Gordy and Andy.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 25 at 11 AM at Evangelical United Methodist Church, 276 W. Main St., New Holland with Pastor Ray Voran officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 7 – 9 PM at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland and at the church on Wednesday from 10 – 11 AM. Kindly omit flowers. If desired, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
