John M. Brackin

John M. Brackin, 53, of New Holland, died Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late J. Lewis and Diane (Keen) Brackin.

John attended Millersville University. He was currently the manager for Family Dollar Store in New Holland, known to many of his customers for his friendly demeanor. He will be missed in the community.

He was an avid reader, a fan of science fiction, enjoyed music, bowling, and his nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Surviving are three siblings: Kurt married to Kathleen (Beatty) Brackin, Leola; Jill (Brackin) Ipnar married to Debra Bialecki, Smyrna, DE; and Cynthia Brackin, Hummelstown as well as his nieces and nephews; Kris Brackin, Jessica Ipnar, Jana Ipnar Jarrell, Peter Ipnar, and Molly Brackin.

A memorial service honoring his life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association for research, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 101, Harrisburg PA 17110.
