John C. Bradford

John C. Bradford, Jr. Dr. John (Jack) C. Bradford, Jr., of New Holland, PA, formerly from Wilmington, DE, where he practiced family medicine for 38 years, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on January 18, 2022.


Jack was born on December 13, 1927 to John C. Bradford, Sr. and Nettie Shortall. He was born at the Philadelphia Osteopathic Hospital where his father was attending medical school.


He graduated from P.S. duPont High School, Wilmington in 1946. He then served our country in the U.S. Army before attending the University of Delaware. He went on to medical school in Philadelphia before opening his family practice in Claymont, DE.


Jack was active in his church and through the years was a church moderator, Deacon and Sunday School and home bible teacher.


He was happily married for over 63 years to Lorraine Mitchell from Boston, MA. Jack never tired of telling people how lucky he was to be married to the love of his life. In addition to Lorraine, Jack is survived by his two sons, John S., New Holland, and Bill (Stacy), Hockessin, DE, and his grandson Kyle. He was preceded in death by his first son, Christopher and grandson, Ryan.


A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM in Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S Kinzer Avenue, New Holland PA 17557. Interment was held at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.


Groff High Funeral Home in New Holland is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
