John Wolf “Jack” Bryan, Jr., 76 of Narvon, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Ephrata Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late John W., Sr., and Marie L. (Becker) Bryan. His wife of 23 years, Ellen H. Drew, died Jan. 30, 2008.
Jack retired in 1974 after 20 years with the US Navy as Chief Petty Officer and served during the Vietnam War. Later he owned and operated J. & J. Printing in Terre Hill from 1975 – 1985.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, along with a foster parent for many years.
Surviving are three children, Kay Bryan, Richard Bryan, and Joyce, married to James Wolf all of Ephrata; three adopted children, Dakota, Tehya, and Jessica Bryan all at home; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Lee M., married to Ellen Bryan of Reading; and three sisters, Margaret L., married to Vincent Smith, M. Louise Kemp, and Joanne L. Skipper all of Reading.
Preceding him in death are two sons, John W. Bryan, III, and Glen Noel Bryan.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 18 at 11 am at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill with the Reverend Bradley Haws officiating. Interment will be in the Bowmansville Union Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday at the Funeral Home from 10-11 am.
