John H. Martin

John H. Martin, 81, of 357 Hammertown Road, Narvon, died Monday, April 9, 2012 at his home.

Born in Caernarvon Twp., he was the son of the late Weaver W. and Ruth (Hursh) Martin. He was married 57 years to Vera (Burkholder) Martin.

John was a farmer and a member of the Churchtown Old Order Mennonite Church of the Groffdale Conference.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, David, married to Vera (Burkholder) Martin of West Virginia, and John Martin of Saegertown; four daughters, Erma, married to Martin Zeiset of Wisconsin, Edna, married to Weaver Burkholder of Saegertown, Alice, married to Glen Ringler of East Earl; and Mary, married to Lewis Horst of East Earl; 31 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph, married to Lydia Ann Martin; and a sister, Maggie Martin.

Preceding him in death is a son Edward Martin; and three brothers, Daniel, Paul, and Weaver Martin.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12 at 9 am at the late home with further services at 9:30 am at the Churchtown Old Order Mennonite Church with the Bishop Elam Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Wednesday at the late home from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Kindly omit flowers.
