John H. Horning

John H. Horning, 92, of Bowmansville, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

He was married 60 years to Sandra L. McVaugh Horning. Born in Mohnton, he was the son of the late Stanley E. and Rosie Mae Griffith Horning.

John had been employed as an electrician with Johnny Musser for 37 years. John served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Brecknock and Bowmansville Fire Companies. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains of Sullivan County, hunting and playing cards. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Tammy wife of Eric Hansen of Narvon, and Tina wife of Randy Zerbe of Denver; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by siblings, Alton Horning, Mary Musser, Lily Horning, Sara Jane Ebersole and Catherine Schlouch.

Services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
