John Stives

John Stives

John Stives (Jack), passed away on February 7th, 2019

at his place of residence, in Lancaster, PA,

with his daughter, Jacqueline Battle, by his side.

John was a veteran of the Korea War, stationed in Aberdeen , MD,

With an additional 8 years Army Reserves. He retired

from Roebling Construction in NJ, in 1986; moved to Lancaster, PA

with his wife, June Stives, who predeceased him 2011.


He is also predeceased by his first wife, Theresa Borosko, by his parents,

Fred E. and Mary D. Stives of NJ, his four siblings, Dorothy, Fred, Richard,

And Janette and a step-daughter,

Jenny Young, and her husband, Harry Young, of TX.


He is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Battle (Charles ), his sons

James Stives( Donna), Jeff Stives(Jill), daughter, Rosemary Boyer( Jeff),

son, John David, and 2 sons from June’s first marriage,

Anthony Wright (Rosemary), and George Wright (Joanne),

14 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren, a sister-in-law Louise Fackas several nieces, nephews, and cousins.


In keeping with Jack’s wishes, there will be no viewing.

Locally, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with a Prayer service at 7 p.m.

His services will take place

On Friday, February 15th, 2019,in New Jersey,

at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Corner of Maxwell and Franklin (Rt. 33), Hightstown, NJ. At 11 AM. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery,

385 Mercer St., Hightstown, NJ following the

Church service with military honors.
