Joseph I. Kurtz, 100, of 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, formerly of Morgantown, died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Garden Spot Village.

Born in Morgantown, he was the son of the late Jacob S. and Lydia (Mast) Kurtz. He was married 75 years on November 14 to Susan H. (Fisher) Kurtz.

Joseph was a farmer and cattle hauler and a member of Rockville Mennonite Church in Honey Brook.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Ivan, married to Erma (Stoltzfus) Kurtz of Honey Brook, Ruth, married to Martin Landis of Mechanicsburg, Lois, married to Wilmer Miller of McClure, and Walter, married to Mildred (Musser) Kurtz of Narvon; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; seven great-great grandchildren; and two step great-great grandchildren..

Joseph was the last of his immediate family. Preceding him in death are five brothers, three sisters, and a great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 26 at 5 pm at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA 17557 with the Reverend Ira Kurtz officiating. Interment will be in the Conestoga Mennonite Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Sunday from 3-5 pm at Garden Spot Village Chapel.
