Joseph S. Zimmerman

Joseph S. Zimmerman, 92, of 99 Bethany Rd., Ephrata, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Ephrata Manor.

Born in Terre Hill, he was the son of the late Abram and Lizzie (Shirk) Zimmerman.

He was a retired janitor at Wal-Mart and a retired realtor at the former Witwer Real Estate in Ephrata.

Joseph was a member of the Weaverland Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.

Surviving are two sons: Allan D. married to Lori (Gladfelter) Zimmerman, Manheim and Ike married to Michele (Hetrick) Zimmerman, New Holland, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by 10 siblings: Lydia Horst, Lena Sauder, Lizzie Hoover, Mary Anna Hoover, Mabel Oberholtzer, Weaver Zimmerman, Aaron Zimmerman, John Zimmerman, Abram Zimmerman and Harvey Zimmerman.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill with further services at 2:30 p.m. at Weaverland Mennonite Church with Bishop Amos G. Martin, Harlan Martin, Amos K. Martin and Ivan Hurst officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at Eckenroth’s on Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.
