Judith A. Killian

Judith Anne Killian, age 83, passed away on December 27, 2023 at the Lancaster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster, PA where she was a resident. She was born on December 21, 1940, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen Killian. She is survived by two brothers, Terry Killian (Ginny) of Mountville, PA, Don Killian of Aston, PA, and a niece and nephew, as well as many cousins in the New Holland area.

To her friends and family she was affectionately known as “Judy”. She enjoyed her extended family and their reunions were always a source of pleasure for her. She enjoyed vacationing at Cape May and loved Provincetown.

Judy attended elementary and junior high schools in Lancaster, PA and graduated from McCaskey High School in 1959 where she excelled in band and orchestra playing clarinet. She earned a degree in psychology from Millersville State College (now Millersville University). After graduation she worked in Crisis Intervention for the County of Lancaster. She then went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh graduating cum laud with a Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Social Work, and again returned to work for Crisis Intervention and subsequently left there to establish her private practice in Lancaster. For a time, in various surveys, she was voted as number one therapist in Lancaster County. She is the author of a self-help book entitled “Discover The Magic of You” published by “I Universe”, which is still available to order from any book store. Her personal mantra was “Carpe Diem”, seize the day!

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Beck Funeral Home, 315 E Main Street, New Holland PA 17557. A Burial will be held following the service in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
