Judy C. Kurtz

Judy C. Kurtz, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Landis Homes, just six days before celebrating her 70th wedding anniversary with her beloved husband, Robert D. (Bob) Kurtz.

Born on April 2, 1937, in Dayton, Ohio, Judy was the daughter of the late Truman and Ruth (Stewart) Coy. She later moved with her family to New Holland, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from New Holland High School in 1955.

Judy and Bob shared nearly 70 years of marriage, building a life together centered on family, faith, and love.

In addition to her husband, Judy is survived by their three children: Vicki Engel of Leola, PA (wife of the late Dwain Engel); Sherri Shirk of Paradise, PA; and Rob Kurtz (Karen) of Lititz, PA. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Mike Shirk (Stephanie), Erin Smucker (Burnie), Aubree Pauletti (Tony), and Aly Smith (Tyler); and eight great-grandchildren.

Judy was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara (Coy) Hostetter, and brother, David Coy. She is survived by her brother, Donald Coy.

A devoted member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, Judy generously shared her time and talents with her church family. She sang in the church choir and faithfully served as a deaconess, and volunteered in the church nursery, reflecting her deep faith, caring nature, and commitment to serving others.

Throughout her working years, Judy was employed at Sperry New Holland and later served for many years as the office manager at Good’s Insurance.

Judy will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2151 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, PA.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Groff-High-Eckenroth Funeral Home, New Holland, PA.
