Judy Alice Witmer

Judy Alice Witmer, 77, of New Holland, PA, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025, at her apartment at Garden Spot Village. Born in Groffdale, PA, she was the daughter of Edwin and Myrtle Mentzer. She was the wife of Galen R. Witmer with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage on March 25th.

She was an active member of the New Holland Area Women’s Club in the 1970s and 80s, as well as the Garden Spot Midget Athletic Association where her son’s played baseball, basketball, and tennis. She was a committee member for Boy Scout Troop #48 throughout the 1980s.

When the boys were grown, Judy and Galen enjoyed taking cruises together, playing pinochle with their card club, listening to fifties music, and watching their grandkids in all their activities.

She collected Longaberger baskets and carnival glass. Tennis was her sport in earlier days which led her to pickleball in recent years. She enjoyed her flower gardens and watching her grandkids play sports.

Her grandchildren will always associate crab appetizers with dinners at grandma’s house, meadow tea for summertime parties, and Mr. Sprinkles for their ice cream desserts!
