Kathleen Gitke, 72, of Narvon, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Kathleen was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to her late parents, George and Mary (Ordos) Samudovsky. Her late husband, Dennis Gitke, passed away in June of 2007.

Kathleen found immense joy in being with her family and volunteering at her parish, Our Lady of Lourdes in New Holland. In addition to being a loving mother and grandmother, Kathleen served in numerous ways at her church. She served as the vice president and recording secretary of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, she counted offerings and was active on the kitchen committee.

Kathleen is survived by her children, Michelle Straub and her husband Terry, of Narvon, Joseph Gitke and his wife Tanya, of Denver, and her grandchildren, Samantha Sally and her husband Steve, Bailey Coon and his fiancée Alyssa Shuman, and Dennis Gitke. She is also survived by her sister, Olga Soriano and her husband Michael, of Madison, NJ.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 150 Water Street, New Holland. A viewing will be held beginning at 10:00 AM at the church. Following cremation, there will be a private family inurnment at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Ephrata.
