Kathleen M. (Kurtz) Weaver, 69, of Denver, passed away on April 16, 2024 at Wellspan Ephrata Hospital.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Arlene (Landis) Kurtz.
She was the wife of the late Eugene H. Weaver, with whom she shared 28 years of marriage until his passing in 2002. She graduated from Garden Spot High School in 1973. After working in the banking industry for 20 years, she helped her husband start and run Quality Truck Lines, Inc. She also loved meeting people and driving for Beachy's Taxi. Kathleen will be most remembered for being a giving person, who was always ready and willing to help others. She enjoyed traveling near and far, gardening, volunteering and was a very active and faithful member of her church.
Kathleen became the guardian of the children of the late Franklin and Nancy Weaver in 1997. She is survived by these children John B. Weaver of Ephrata, Anna M. Kelly (wife of
John) of Ankeny, Iowa, Joseph D. Weaver (husband of Jodi) of Lititz and Katrina J. Brinegar (wife of Tyler) of Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by her brother, Arlan Kurtz (husband of Louise) of Morgantown, four nephews and one niece, three great nieces and her friend and companion, Ken Weaver of Honey Brook. She was Nana Kathy to Taylor, Robin, Zoe and Graham.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Norman L. Kurtz.
A viewing and funeral service will be at Conestoga Mennonite Church, 2779 Main Street, Morgantown PA 19543. Viewing will be held Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service with Pastor Jeremiah Martin officiating will be on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM with viewing one hour prior to service. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery following the service.
