Kathy O. Braine

Kathy (Rabert) Braine, 66, of New Holland PA, died on Sunday November 20, 2016. She was wife to Richard Braine for 46 years whom she met at Spring Gulch campground, mother to Chadd, married to Sarah (Schwarzmann) Braine of Rockaway NJ, and Kristina, married to Bill Newport of Lancaster PA, grandmother to Will & Stella.

Kathy was the bookkeeper for Town & Country Plumbing and Electric for 41 years. She was an active volunteer in the New Holland community, in Girl Scouts, St. Stephen UCC, Garden Spot Midget Athletic Association, Garden Spot Performing Arts, Garden Spot Football Booster Club, Women’s Club and Liberty Fire Company Auxiliary. Always looking for ways to help her friends and family, she hosted the “Brainy Bunch” in a monthly stamping group for more than ten years. She enjoyed hosting friends and family at their pool, watching the Phillies on the back porch and cheering for the East Stroudsburg University Football team more than anything.

Kathy sacrificed herself for those she loved and would want all of us to continue to give to others in her honor. In remembrance, her family asks that we reach out to the people we love by calling them, sending cards and finding out how to make their lives better.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3 at 10 am at the Church of the Apostles, 1850 Marietta Ave, Lancaster, PA with the Reverend Kathryn Kuhn and the Reverend Ann T. Few officiating. The family will greet friends at a luncheon following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
