Keith Dunn Benton

Keith D. Benton, 68, of Leola, died at home on Friday, January 19, 2018. He had been under the care of Hospice and Community Care.

He was married 37 years to Sharon L. Zeigler Benton. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Carl S., Sr. and Madeline Dunn Benton.

Keith retired from the Evangelical United Methodist Church in New Holland, where he had been employed as a custodian. Prior to that he had worked at Goodwill Industries.

He was a graduate of Everett High School in Lansing, MI. He served in the U.S. Army as a medic during the Vietnam War. His interests included fishing, woodworking, crabbing, baseball and family vacations.

Surviving besides his wife is a son, Joshua L. husband of Tabitha Lloyd Benton of Stevens; a daughter, Amanda J. wife of Juan C. Aviles of West Reading; three grandchildren, Nathan S. Benton, Hannah S. Benton and Emma P. Benton; a sister, Linda wife of James Downie of Grand Haven, MI; and a brother, Carl S. Benton, Jr. of Lansing, MI.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, at 11:00 A.M. at the Beck Funeral Home, 315 East Main St., New Holland, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 4219 E. Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
