Kenneth P. Hoover, 88, of New Holland, formerly of Westfield, NJ, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 21, 2015.

Born in Frederick County, MD, the son of the late Lloyd L. and Mabel (Kidd) Hoover. He was married 64 years on November 4 to Joanne M. (Koehler) Hoover.

Ken graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Western Maryland College. He retired in 1982 after 32 years as a personnel manager at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co.

He was a member at Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church where he was currently serving as trustee. During WWII he served in the US Navy as a seaman first class.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Kenneth K. Hoover of Westfield, NJ; a daughter, Rebecca D., married to Brian A. Irving of Hanover Twp., NJ; three grandchildren, Kristina K. Hoover, Julie K. Irving, and Timothy B. Irving; a brother, Lloyd K., married to Charlotte Hoover of Frederick, MD; a niece; and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25 at 2 PM at Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church, 4833 Division Hwy., East Earl, PA with the Rev. Dr. Kris Poontajak officiating. Interment will be at a later date at the Francis Scott Key Cemetery at Mount Olivet in Frederick, MD. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, 433 S.
