Larry D. Martin

Larry D. Martin, 72, of New Holland, died Wednesday, July 11 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mt. Joy. His wife, Carolyn L. (Vierck) Martin survives. They would have celebrated their 14th anniversary on August 1st.

Born in Ephrata, he was the son of Lillian (Shiffler) Martin of Narvon and the late Ernest Martin.

Larry was employed by New Holland Concrete for 31 years. Following his retirement, he worked as a mechanic at Blue Ball Lanes where he enjoyed bowling.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two sons: Michael (Julia) Martin, Dracut, MA and Terry (Wynetta) Martin, East Earl; four step-daughters: Cynthia (Tom) Henry, Richmond, VA; Deborah (George) Smith, Downingtown; Pamela (Jim) Thompson, Pittsburgh; and Brenda Dinacola, Phoenixville; six grandchildren: Matthew, Nicholas, Katelyn, Jonathan, Kristina, and Jennifer; four step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren; and a brother, Dale Martin, Narvon.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Willenbrock.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, July 14 at 11 AM at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with Pastor Kenneth Higgenbotham officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Ephrata. A viewing will be held at Groff-High on Saturday from 9 – 11 AM. Kindly omit flowers.
