Lea A. Daily

Lea A. Daily, 89, of New Holland, formerly of Honey Brook, PA, lived a very full life enriched with love, laughter, family and friends. She passed away December 26, 2014 at Garden Spot Village, when she peacefully entered the gates of heaven. Born in Colchester, VT, she was the daughter of the late Peter J. and Helen (Foss) Allaire. Her first husband, Leonard F. Bellak, died December 19, 1971, and her second husband, Lester G. Daily, died September 9, 2005. Lea’s long-time companion and best friend at Garden Spot Village was Douglas M. Donahue.

Lea was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She assisted in managing her first husband’s business in Philadelphia, and was employed by Petersheim Brothers Well Contracting in Morgantown, PA. She was also a member of the Morgantown Garden Club, the Roamers Hiking Club, and the Parkinson’s group at Garden Spot Village. Lea enjoyed reading, sewing, playing pinochle and preparing family dinners.

Lea touched the lives of all she met through her compassion and generosity. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Surviving are three daughters, Cynthia B., wife of David Catbagan of Lakewood, CO, Joyce B., wife of Daniel A. Palaferro of Denver, PA, and Linda M. Boland of Flying Hills, PA; a step- son, James Daily, husband of Pame of Middlebury, VT; 10 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; two brothers, Donald, husband of Ramonia Allaire of Hyde Park, VT, and Norman Allaire of Irasburg, VT; a half-sister, Rachel, wife of Ralph Towers of Richmond, VT; and two half-brothers, Levi, husband of Bonnie Allaire of Essex Junction, and Raymond Allaire of Essex Junction. Preceding her in death are two brothers, Philip and Marcel Allaire of VT.

Lea chose to lead by example: “For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.” – Prayer of Saint Francis.
