Lela Y. Horning

Lela Youndt Horning, 88, of Ephrata, formerly Alleghenyville, went to her heavenly home on Friday, July 15, 2016, at Fairmount Homes. Born in Adamstown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond B. and Susie G. Youndt. She is survived by her husband, Henry W. Horning, with whom she celebrated 67 years of marriage. Lela was a dedicated homemaker, farm wife and a lifelong member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church.

In addition to her husband, Lela is survived by two daughters: Suzanne married to John Baker of Mohnton, and Anne married to Kenneth Becker of Mohnton; five grandchildren: Heidi Charles (Scott), Daniel Baker (Kirsten), Michael, Jeffrey and Douglas Becker; two great-grandchildren: Dylan and Logan Charles; one sister: Erla Beiler (Eugene); four half siblings: Lillian Weber, Richard Weber (Barbara), Betsy Brackbill, Ruth Ann Hollinger (Lamar); three step siblings: George Weber, Irene Horst, Diane Reitz (Richard). She was preceded in death by five siblings: Carl, Melvin, Clair and Leon Youndt, and Hazel Martin, one stepsister, Grace Horning and one half-brother, Sam Weber.

A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, in the Wheat Ridge Chapel of Fairmount Homes. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, at Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Road, East Earl, PA, with a viewing from 9-10 a.m. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
