Lena R. Hollinger

Lena R (Smoker) Lapp Hollinger, 94, of New Holland, died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Garden Spot Village. She was the wife of the late Earl Hollinger who died in 2003 and the late John B. Lapp who died in 1978.

She was employed for 16 years at Bird-In-Hand Family Inn and 13 years at the former SLC Garment Factory, Blue Ball. She loved camping, playing games, quilting, embroidery, and crocheting. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church, New Holland and The Community Church at Garden Spot Village.

Born in Atglen, she was the daughter of the late Samuel B. and Salome (Stoltzfus) Smoker.

Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Linda (Hershey) Lapp, Gettysburg, a step-daughter Janet married to K. Richard Lefever, Millersville and a step-son Jeff married to June (Seigrist) Hollinger, Leola, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four step-grandsons, four step-great grandchildren, three sisters: Miriam Brendle, Strasburg, Amanda Beiler, Lancaster and Reba Hershey, New Holland, and two brothers: Daniel Smoker, Atglen and Nevin married to Pat (Roberts) Smoker, Parkesburg.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, J. Linford Lapp, two sisters Elsie Wingard and Marie Yoder and four brothers: Lee Roy, Norman, Lloyd (Jim), and Marcus (Bud) Smoker.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Garden Spot Village Chapel with Chaplain Chet Yoder and Marian Harnish and Pastor Dave Horst officiating. Interment will be in Ridgeview Mennonite Cemetery. A viewing will be held in the chapel on Wednesday from 10 – 11 a.m. Kindly omit flowers.
