Leon Buckwalter Hershey

Leon B. Hershey, Jr. of Narvon went to be with the Lord he loved on July 2, 2024 in his home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Leon B. and Adella Ruth (Fisher) Hershey and the beloved husband of Joyce L. (Bachman) Hershey, with whom he shared over 52 years of marriage. He was a self-employed contractor of Covenant Landmark Int’l for almost 40 years and enjoyed beekeeping and gardening.

Leon loved all his family and was so grateful to God for his children—son Keith, husband of Carol Hershey, and daughter Cherie Lynn Hershey—and for his grandchildren, Kate, wife of Kyle Martin, Luke Hershey, Andrew Hershey, and Joshua Hershey. He was joyfully anticipating meeting his first great-grandson, Lincoln Martin.

Also surviving are his sister Velma, wife of Tom Pendergrass, and brother Ron, husband of Bonnie Hershey. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother John Hershey and his sister Elaine, wife of Bill Yoder.

He will be greatly missed until we see him again in the presence of the Lord. Psalm 67.

Services will be held private at the convenience of the family.
