Leona P. Allgyer

Leona P. Allgyer, 90, formerly of New Holland, died Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Newport Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Samuel B. Allgyer, Sr., who died in 2018.

Born in Hillsville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Roy Everett and Cleva (Grimes) Pugh.

Leona held several jobs over the years, working in the operations department at the former Blue Ball National Bank and working as a manager with her husband for fire company carnivals.

She enjoyed dancing and was a Queen of the Red Hat Society for several years.

Surviving are two granddaughters, Heidi married to Ryan Kurtz, New Holland and Heather married to Tom McEneaney, West Chester and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Samuel B. Allgyer, Jr. and Roy Renard Allgyer.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland with Kerry Martin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. Online condolences may be posted at www.groffeckenroth.com.
