Leonard Sensenig Horst

Leonard S. Horst, 56, of Rising Sun, MD passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.

He would have been married 32 years on February 22nd to Susan Zimmerman Horst. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of Ezra Z. and Alma Sensenig Horst of Quarryville. He was the son-in-law of Raymond and Sarah Z. Zimmerman of Lebanon.

Leonard was a dairy farmer and a member of the Fairmount Mennonite Church in Quarryville.

Surviving besides his wife, parents and in-laws are six sons, Josh husband of Brenda Horst Horst of Holtwood, Leonard Lydell husband of Marietta Martin Horst of Rising Sun, Jeremy Horst of Rising Sun, Joseph husband of Lorinda Weaver Horst of Lancaster, Jonathan Horst and Brendan Horst both of Rising Sun; three daughters, Carrie wife of Roy Martin of New Tripoli, Rebekah Horst and Andrea Horst both of Rising Sun; four grandchildren; six brothers, Marvin husband of Carolyn Z. Horst of McAlisterville, Vernon husband of Sharon B. Horst of Rising Sun, Ezra, Jr. husband of Janice H. Horst of Quarryville, Kevin husband of Kimberly J. Horst of Princess Anne, MD, Wilmer husband of Kathy M. Horst of Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA, and Galen husband of Crystal B. Horst of North East, MD; five sisters, Catherine wife of Milton Good of Newmanstown, Dorothy wife of Ralph Martin of Elizabethtown, Sharon wife of Nelson Reiff of Ephrata, Nancy wife of E. Paul Weaver IV of Denver and Rosene wife of Wilmer Martin of Lititz.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 26 at 9:30 A.M. at the Little Britain Fellowship Center, 356 Nottingham Road, Quarryville, PA with further services at 10:00 A.M. at the Farimount Mennonite Church, 520 Little Britain Road, Quarryville, PA with Bishop Curvin Zimmerman, Delmar Nolt, Walter Martin and Clair Hurst officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 24, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Little Britain Fellowship Center, 356 Nottingham Road, Quarryville, and on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Farm Crest Chapel at Fairmount Homes, 333 Wheatridge Drive, Ephrata, PA.
