Leroy B. Snader

LeRoy B. Snader, 75, of New Holland, died unexpectedly at Lancaster General Hospital on Monday, January 5, 2015. His wife, Mildred M. “Millie” (Martin) Snader, survives.


Born in Green Bank, East Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Isaac B. and Irma M. (Sandoe) Snader.


LeRoy was an installer in the electronics field, working for the former Enterprise Telephone Company and Triangle Communications.


A veteran of the U. S. Army, he served during the Vietnam War with the 7th Army Artillery Communications as a Sergeant in Germany.


LeRoy was a full-time RVer, pilot, Ham radio operator (W3LBS) and enjoyed computer technology.


He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the New Holland American Legion, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Thousand Trails, and the Good Sam Club.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Kristine C. Howe, companion of George Christman, Leola and Lori R. Johnson, companion of John Ressler, Lancaster; three grandchildren: Danielle Howe, Travis Howe, Lauren (Gabe) Brubaker; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Silas; a sister Lorna A. Hartman, East Petersburg; a brother-in-law George E. and Brenda Martin and several nieces and nephews.


His funeral will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland. Interment will be in Ranck’s United Methodist Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the United Veterans Council of New Holland Red Rose Honor Guard. A viewing will be held at Groff-High on Friday from 6 – 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 – 2 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.
