Lester M. Bowman

Lester M. Bowman, 72, of Stevens, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, August 16, 2024. Lester will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Brenda M. (Yoder) Bowman and family.

Born in Blue Ball, he was the son of the late Raymond S. and Ruth (Metzler) Bowman.

Lester and Brenda founded Bowman’s Stove and Patio in Ephrata.

A member of Christian Fellowship Church, Lester also served on the board of directors for Revelation of Freedom Ministries. Lester and Brenda served two years in Voluntary Service at Northern Tier Children’s Home in Potter County and in Alberta, AL. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, being at his cabin in Lycoming County, motorcycling, camping, riding horses, hunting and growing plants.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children: Kristy married to Jarod Hynson, Shane married to Deb (Joseph) Bowman, Dustin Bowman, Amilci married to Cameron Weaver, Miguel married to Katie (Bekkering) Bowman, Chase Bowman, and Blessing married to Justin Lapp, 10 grandchildren: Brianna, Skylar, and Trey Hynson, Ethan, Eli, Maddie, and Ava Bowman, Aiyana, and Ayden Weaver, and Judah Bowman, 14 siblings: Mary Jane Horning, Miriam Mentzer, Paul married to Lynn Bowman, Esther married to Ken Martin, Raymond married to Ruth Bowman, Clair married to Fannie Bowman, Glenn married to Sally Bowman, Ruth Ann married to Dale Martin, Arlene married to Ken Shirk, Marlene Weaver, Marilyn married to Clarence Martin, Doris married to Daryl Martin, Carl married to Carol Bowman and Brenda Baum, and a brother-in-law Glenn married to Ginny Hoover.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Jean Hoover.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 11am at Christian Fellowship Church, 758 Spruce Rd., New Holland. Interment will be private in the adjoining church cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lester’s memory may be made to Revelation of Freedom Ministries, 114 Ranck Church Rd., New Holland, PA 17557 or Greenview Bible Camp, 580 Fivepointville Rd., Denver, PA 17517.
