Linda Lou (Brown) Dodge, of New Holland, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, at the age of 75, following a courageous three-year battle with liver cancer.

To know Linda was to know a woman of unwavering faith, compassion, and service. Whether supporting her church, strengthening her community, mentoring colleagues, or offering a kind word to a friend, she lived each day with grace, generosity, and purpose.

Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, Linda was the daughter of Mary Jane Brown and the late Charles Brown. She graduated from Muhlenberg High School and Albright College, where her lifelong love of music and community first flourished. During her school years, she was active in chorus, show band, musical theater productions, and numerous student organizations.

Linda devoted her professional career to higher education and nonprofit development. As a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), she held leadership positions in alumni relations, grants, development, and community relations at Albright College, Ferrum College, Anna Maria College, the University of Massachusetts Memorial Foundation, and, most recently, as Director of Development at Garden Spot Village. Through her dedication and leadership, she helped strengthen the organizations she served and positively impacted countless lives.

Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life. She faithfully served churches in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Massachusetts as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, pianist, and committee volunteer. She also gave generously of her time through organizations including the YWCA, United Way, Altrusa International, the Lions Club, the Girl Scouts, and many other civic and charitable organizations.

Beyond her many accomplishments, Linda embraced life’s simple joys. She loved music, traveling, and camping with her husband, Carlton, creating treasured memories with family and friends while enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. She especially cherished spending time at her beloved home in Mount Gretna, where she found peace, relaxation, and happiness.

Above all, Linda cherished her family. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 40 years, Carlton S. Dodge; her mother, Mary Jane Brown; her brother, Jeffrey Brown (Terri); her nieces, Jessica Masterson (Eric) and Kimberly Faris (Daniel); and many beloved extended family members, dear friends, and colleagues.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff of Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, especially her surgeon, Dr. Rushin D. Brahmbhatt, for their exceptional care, compassion, and support throughout Linda’s illness.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 28, at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Gretna United Methodist Church, 4th Street and Boehm Avenue, Mount Gretna, PA. A Celebration of Life at Garden Spot Village will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Linda’s memory.

Linda will be remembered for her unwavering faith, servant’s heart, love of music, and genuine kindness. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the communities she strengthened, and the family and friends who were blessed to know and love her.
