Lois Mae Geerdes

Lois Mae (Mills) Geerdes of New Holland, PA, born March 24, 1921 went home to be with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, in her home at the age of 92.

Born in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Roy and Lettie Mills. Lois survived her late husband, Robert W. Geerdes, who passed away in 1984 after 42 years of marriage.

Lois is survived by son, Terry and daughter-in-law Sharyln of Jamestown, ND, and daughters, Charmaine Antonucci and Holly Geerdes of New Holland, 3 grandchildren Ryan, Grant and Tara and 6 great grandchildren, sisters Mae and Marilyn and brother Clyde.

She was preceded in death by brothers Wesley and Donald and sisters Grayce and Marge.

Lois used her gift of piano and organ over the years through a radio ministry in Grand Rapids, MI, LeTourneau college choir in Longview, TX, and a Christian coffee house ministry in Berwyn, PA. She sang in a trio with her daughters and assisted Holly in her Jewish Bride ministry. Lois was involved in Greenwood Hills Girls Bible Camp, taught women’s Bible studies and she and her husband had a young married counseling ministry.

She worked for Pioneer International for 20 years, retiring at 85 and Garden Spot Village for 5 years retiring at 83.

Viewings will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 5:30 – 8 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 26, from 12:30-2 p.m. the service to follow at 2 p.m., all at the Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA. Interment on Friday, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Gideon International, P.O.
