Lorena J. Herman

Lorena J. Herman, 83, of Quarryville, formerly of Ronks, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 after a lengthy illness at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Home.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Joseph W. Snader and Anna (Splain) Snader Martin. Her husband, George W. Herman, died Nov. 6, 1990.

Lorena worked for over 35 years at Miller’s Smorgasbord in Ronks.

She was a member of Strasburg Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Gordonville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed getting together at family gatherings, reading, playing Bingo, traveling, and collecting figurines.

Surviving are six children, Shirley, married to Dennis McFalls of Ronks, Lena Jo, married to Terry Kline of Hanover, Cathy, married to Dean Graybill of Paradise, G. William “Bill”, married to Jan Herman of Lancaster, Pamela, married to Stephen Bleau of Leola, and Robert M. “Bob” Herman and his companion Jennie McFadden of Ronks; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a brother, Merle Snader of Manheim; and a half-sister, Joy Ann Kinder of Lorain, OH.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 4 pm at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with Chaplain Stephen Phillips officiating. Interment will be in the Zeltenreich’s Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Saturday, at the Funeral Home, from 3-4 pm.
