Loretta Armstrong

Loretta Armstrong, 63, of Reading, formerly of Denver, died Sunday, August 30, 2020, after a brief battle with cancer, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Garman) Laich. Her husband, Frederick Armstrong, died December 11, 2010.

Loretta has worked as a receptionist and dealer trades manager at New Holland Auto since July 2011.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her contagious smile, her love of dancing, and the way she cared so selflessly for those around her.

Surviving are six children, John, III (Christine) Biemuller of Levittown, Fred (Crystal) Biemuller of Quakertown, Christina McMullen (C.B.) of Reading, Sarah Biemuller (Nick) of Philadelphia, Melissa (Jack) Mullin of Bensalem, and Rich (Angela) Biemuller of Bensalem; seven grandchildren, Brianna, Caroline, Haley, Scarlett, Jack, Olivia, and Charlie, and two more on the way; eight siblings, Fred (Kathy) Laich, Mary (Jo) Heisler, Mark (Eileen) Laich, Lorraine Brutschea, Paul (Karen) Laich, Marita Laich, Celeste (Chick) McGuigan, and Joseph (Jeanie) Laich; and a sister-in-law, Penny Laich.

Preceding her in death are two brothers, Richard and Gerard Laich.

A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 150 Water St., New Holland, on Saturday, September 19 at 11 am with Fr. Stephen W. Fauser officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 – 11 am. In lieu of flowers contributions in Loretta's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
